I am very pleased to say – I’ve said it before, but this time it’s true – that I have now finished Running with the Pack. Definitely. Sometimes, I seem to think of the books I’ve written in the same way that Plato thought of the written word more generally: as orphaned children sent out into the world, with no one to protect them. Some times it is difficult to cut the ties. But they are now cut – it is in production, and will be out some time in the second half of 2012.
The Philosopher and the Wolf was, in essence, about growing up. Running with the Pack is about growing old, and so is a sequel of sorts. There is, I suppose, a natural trilogy here, but I hope I don’t have to write the third part for a long time yet.
